The Springfield Police Division is governed by the City of Springfield in Ohio. The division handles cases related to child sexual, physical abuse, and residential and business burglaries. It manages the Citizen Police Academy, which provides classes in several topics, such as community policing, officer survival, prostitution and drug trafficking issues. The Springfield Police Division also operates the Clark County Child Advocacy Center. The division s narcotics unit is responsible for the investigation of street level drug dealing and liquor violations, as well as researching liquor permits. Its traffic division handles serious injury accidents. The Springfield Police Division operates a crime laboratory that tests gunpowder residues and blood and fiber evidences.
