Elder Charles and Evangelist Lillian Burger were faithful members of the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church of the Apostolic Church for 27 years. During those years Elder Burger worked as a Young People Leader, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, handy man, Bible Study Teacher and whatever was needed to be done in the church. Not knowing that God was just training him for the day that he was going to direct his path.Through many trials and tribulations, Elder Burger began to wrestle with the call that God had placed upon him. In the process of time he attended School of Biblical Theology through the Union University of California. Through much fasting and praying Elder Burger accepted the calling to Pastor. Elder Burger went to his Bishop ( Bishop Walter Jones ) as they cried together, but knew that God has a calling on his life.Bishop Jones gave him his blessing. He began to ask God for directions for a building for his people. God led him to 3442 S Hamilton Rd. As he began to work on the building souls began to join the ministry. Many hurting people and those that were rejected, God had a plan. The name God gave the Pastor was Rejoice, Praise and Worship Center of the Apostolic faith. We began to rejoice in the Lord and work in the vineyard, through much toiling and beautifying the building. The owner wanted to renovate the building to a banquet/bingo hall.We had so much faith in God we knew we had to find another building. We did not want to take anything from the Lord. We could not share the Church building with things we know that is against the Word of God. So God directed our pastor to 2234 S Hamilton Rd, with a vision. God has truly blessed the members and they had been taught how to be thankful to God for what he continues to do in our lives. Through much laboring in the vineyard, as our church began to grow, the pastor had a vision that we need our own land and Church building to help the community, senior citizens, Daycare, and Youth direction outlet, to show the people that there is a better way of life.God has so much for us to do. Our goal is to win the lost souls to Christ by any means necessary. Through the vision of our pastor, the members are so excited about kingdom business and to see the vision come. For we know that with God all things are possible to them that believe. God has truly been with Rejoice, Praise and Worship Center from the start. God keeps doing great things over and over again. We are looking forward to the day when we Walk through the doors of our new Church building.
