Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives is a statewide association for Ohio's more than 20 electric cooperatives. It represents the cooperatives in the United States Congress and the Ohio General Assembly, conducts a safety and loss control program, and coordinates educational and training program for cooperative employees and directors. OREC engages in public affairs outreach through memberships in various associations, and youth outreach throughout statewide scholarship contests for high school seniors and an annual youth tour to Washington, D.C., for rural youth. It produces, Country Living, a monthly rural magazine, which offers information on energy-related issues to Ohio's electric cooperative consumers about energy-related issues. The association is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
