North Union Farmers Market has been operating farmers markets throughout the Cleveland area since 1995. The markets sell producer-only goods from Northeast Ohio in order to promote the environmental and economic benefits of local consumption. The first market was is Shaker Heights, close to the current office in Shaker Square. North Union Farmers Market's board of seventeen trustees has relations with many Cleveland organizations, including the Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Cleveland Clinic and the Shaker Historical Society.
