The Mentor Public Library's main branch specializes in technology. It has e-readers (specifically, Nooks) that can be checked out and iPads that patrons may use in the library. Additionally, the library still has more than 260,000 books, albums and movies available to borrow. The library also hosts several book clubs including one for seniors, mystery lovers, men, women, twenty-somethings and the Book and Brush Club, which helps readers explore fine art through literature. The book clubs have also used Skype to conduct face-to-face interviews with the books' authors.
The library owns the century house next door to the main branch, dubbed the Read House after the family that lived there. The library is still rehabilitating the house and will occasionally host events there.
