On December 2, 2005 the arena was dedicated to James S. Trent former principal and Superintendent of the Kettering School District. The event marked the opening of the 2005-2006 Kettering Fairmont high school boys basketball season, and the first ever sellout crowd. First and foremost the arena is home to all Kettering Fairmont athletic activities, but the fully air-conditioned Trent Arena is equipped to be a full-service entertainment venue. The arena can be configured to athletic events, worship services, trade expos and more. The spacious 8000 square foot lobby is large enough to accommodate banquets of up to 400 people and includes full-service catering capabilities. The arena will host multiple sporting events as well as concerts throughout the year and is also available for rentals for many different events. With more then 180 events happening at the arena on a yearly basis with a total attendance of just under 250, 000 people, the Trent Arena is the largest high school arena in the state of Ohio. Dimensions - The venue's roof sits 54 feet from the floor, and the floor with bleacher retracted is 12, 566 square feet.
