Founded in 1935, Incarnate Word Academy is a private school that serves more than 450 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The academy provides classes in Spanish, music, computer science, art, math and physical education. It employs over five individuals. The academy s parent-teacher-student union organizes fundraising programs. Incarnate Word Academy also offers an extended-day program. The academy provides an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor and guide reading practices and helps students in improving their reading skills. It offers participation in several athletic activities, such as baseball, football, skiing, basketball and cheerleading. The academy operates Spanish, chess, drama, nature, bowling and math clubs. In addition, it provides outdoor education options. Incarnate Word Academy publishes a newsletter for alumnus.
