In 1932, General Bookbinding Company was founded by August Alpers in East Cleveland, Ohio. The operation moved to its present location in Chesterland, Ohio, in 1969. General Bookbinding Company became ICIBinding Corporation's third library bindery in January, 1987. ICIBinding owns and operates library bindery operations in nine states. The company s clientele ranges from small repositories to many of the nation's most prestigious research libraries. ICIBinding is known for its policy of providing more than one software alternative to its customers and has been a driving force in several software development projects over the past 25 years including CBS, GOLDBACS, ABLE, LARS, Z-Link and numerous other in-house developed applications.
