Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio is one of the largest voluntary organizations for girls in the world. Located in Lima, Ohio, it is one of more than 100 councils that train girl scouts of the United States. The organization serves approximately 55,000 girls in western Ohio and southeast Indiana. It organizes various programs and events, such as patch programs, leadership programs, troop camps and summer camps, among others. Such girl-led activities lend specific knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors to girls of different age groups.
