For a century, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, an organization of volunteers that help people, has been a major influence internationally and nationally in the United States and Canada. The Eagles help people by funding research in areas such as heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes and cancer. The Eagles help raise money for handicapped, neglected and abused children and for the aged. It was over 100 years ago in 1898 the Fraternal Order of Eagles was founded by six theater owners in Seattle Washington. The organization was originally dubbed The Order of Good Things. Seven U.S. Presidents have been Eagles including Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, John F. Kennedy, Harry Truman, Franklin Roosevelt, Warren Harding and Theodore Roosevelt.
