Founded in 1982, The Firelands Symphony is nonprofit school that organizes concerts, shows and performing arts performances. It conducts more than 80 orchestra events and features music of various genres, such as classical, jazz, pop, Dixieland and swing. The school offers a variety of visual arts classes, voice lessons and private instructions to over 100 students. The Firelands Symphony receives funds and grants from Ohio arts Council, community foundations, private donations and concert sponsors. It maintains a nearly 17-member Firelands Symphony Orchestra Board that serves schools and organizations. It also maintains a choir group and offers lessons in violin, piano, cello, flute, clarinet and trumpet. The Firelands Symphony is located in Sandusky, Ohio.
