Cooper Farms Hatchery is a division of Cooper Farms, the main line for quality turkey and chicken products known by foodservice operators throughout the United States and Mexico. The company, established in 1938, produces its own line of poultry products that include oven roasted or smoked turkey breasts, pastrami, wings and sliced products. The company started operating its own feed mills in the 1960s, and opened its first processing plant in Fort Recovery, Ohio in 1965 to meet the fast-growing demand for its products on the East Coast. By the late '60s, Cooper Farms was building all its own laying complexes to ensure its contract farmers would produce the highest quality layers. Cooper Farms has a number of facilities throughout Ohio. Its cooked meats facility is located in Van Wert, Ohio. Cooper Farms Feed and Animal Production facility is located in Fort Recovery, Ohio. Its hatchery and processing plants are located in Oakwood and St. Henry, Ohio.
