Church of the Saviour has a wonderfully rich history. Spanning over 15 decades from its beginning in 1865, our church has been a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and of our community. Beginning as the Bethel Evangelical Church, the congregation remained faithful to its evangelical heritage as it witnessed two denominational mergers ; the Evangelical United Brethren ( E.U.B ) Church was formed in 1946 and the local church became the Second E.U.B. In 1968 the United Methodist Church was established and the church acquired its present name Church of the Saviour. In 1950, the church changed its location from Vine Street to State Street in downtown Westerville. In 2005 the Church relocated again and moved into its current location that was built on a 23-acre parcel of land on Fancher Road in Westerville. We are in a wonderful phase of our journey as a church family. We are now settled into our Fancher Road home and are making new friends in our immediate community. We continue to serve all age groups in our discipleship programs, we have monthly outreach opportunities, and our worship services are inspiring. We are known as a church that is very warm and welcoming. Most assuredly when one comes to Church of the Saviour they will be greeted with a friendly smile and handshake, and a conversation or two.
