Belmont County Juvenile Court, based in St. Clairsville, Ohio., is mandated by law to deal with children who are delinquent, unruly, neglected, dependent or abused. The court also has the authority to take appropriate action deemed to be in the best interests of such children. The juvenile court also has jurisdiction over the parents of such children and contributes to the delinquency of child charges. The procedure followed by the Belmont County Juvenile Court is set forth in the Ohio Rules of Procedure as promulgated by the Supreme Court of Ohio, and the jurisdiction and applicable law related to the juvenile court is found in Ohio Revised Code, Chapters 2151 and 2152.
