Headquartered in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Bainbridge Township Fire Department was established in 1942 and has been protecting more than 11,000 people living in an area of 25-square-miles. BTFD operates out of one station that responds to more than 1,000 fire and emergency medical requests annually. BTFD s emergency medical services consist of two advanced life support-equipped rescue squads. Its paramedic crews have state-of-the-art tools available to administer life-saving procedures when necessary. It provides 12-lead EKG to both units to assist in accurately diagnosing significant cardiac events. BTFD also provides adult education classes that include training in fire extinguishers, CPR, carbon monoxide, home fire safety, commercial and industrial fire safety, water safety and first aid. Its youth education program includes courses geared towards preschool and elementary children to instruct them on the hazards of playing with fire, stop-drop-and-roll instructions, family escape plans and survival techniques in the event of a fire. BTFD also issues burning permits.
