Established in 1941, the Amberley Village Police Department, located in Cincinnati, is a public safety department with officers trained in law enforcement and firefighting duties. Its crime prevention division conducts regular checks of homes while a person is away for an extended period; arranges for lawn service and snow removal at proper times; and turns down the telephone ringer to avoid burglaries. The department offers a vehicle sticker program as a crime prevention tool. The police department affixes an AV sticker to the rear bumper of vehicles to identify vehicles that belong to the citizens of Cincinnati and vehicles that may not belong. The Amberley Village Police Department operates a 911 System to respond to emergency and nonemergency calls.
