The 2nd & 7 Foundation, based in Columbus, OH, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting reading and providing free books to children in need. Since its establishment in 1999, the foundation has donated nearly a million books to kids across the country, engaging thousands of college and high-school student-athlete volunteers as positive role models. Through their reading program, student-athletes read with 2nd graders, inspiring the next generation of readers and leaders.
In addition to their reading program, the foundation operates the Columbus Kids' Book Bank, which accepts new and gently used book donations to distribute to schools, teachers, and children who lack access to books. They also offer digital books featuring the Hog Mollies, a group of friends who learn valuable life lessons in each adventure. With the support of generous donors and volunteers, 2nd & 7 continues to tackle illiteracy and make a significant impact on the lives of children in economically disadvantaged communities.
