The Great Plains Indian Gaming Association (GPIGA) is a voluntary association comprised of 24 federally recognized Tribal Nations in the Great Plains Region, including North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa. With a focus on protecting and promoting the Tribal gaming industry, GPIGA fosters cooperation among its members to develop common strategies and positions on issues affecting all gaming tribes, while advocating for tribal sovereignty and economic development.
GPIGA draws upon the unique status of the Great Plains Indian Nations, which have Treaties with the United States, to influence national legislation and address matters concerning Tribal Economic Development. With jurisdiction over approximately 15 million trust acres and a membership of around 250,000 Tribal members, GPIGA's efforts have a positive impact on the communities in the Great Plains area.
