The Village of Misenheimer, located in Misenheimer, NC, was officially incorporated in 2003, yet boasts a rich history dating back to the late 1800s. Originally known as Gladstone, the area was a hub for tourism and education, home to Gladstone Academy and the Barringer Gold Mine.
With the arrival of Mitchell Home School in 1909, the community was renamed Misenheimer to avoid confusion with the nearby springs. Today, Misenheimer is proud to host Pfeiffer University and Gray Stone Day School, making education a cornerstone of the village's identity.
