The Union County Sheriff's Office is a law enforcement agency that employs a staff of more than 150 sworn officers, civilians and volunteers. It operates a patrol bureau that answers calls for service, conducts investigations and serves warrants. The office also has a drug investigation squad that works with several federal and state agencies. Additionally, the Union County Sheriff's Office investigates cases related to illegal possession and sale of alcohol to minors, illegal weapons possession and gambling activities. It maintains a detective bureau that works with prosecutors and outside agencies on a daily basis.
