Founded by Jane Shuping Tyndall, the Tyndall Galleries opened in 1991 at Brightleaf Square, the first historic tobacco warehouses to be developed in downtown Durham, North Carolina. The galleries soon gained a reputation for excellence in the visual arts by passionately working to create meaningful relationships between art collectors and contemporary American artists. We have always been pleased to represent the finest painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramicists and textile artists in the Southeast. In 2002 the Tyndall Galleries relocated from Durham to a beautiful award-winning contemporary space designed by architect Philip Szostak at University Mall in Chapel Hill where they continued for seven years. In January 2010 after 19 years in business, Jane decided to move the galleries from University Mall and become an online gallery and full-service art consulting firm. The Tyndall Galleries continue to represent the same brilliant stable of artists that collectors have come to love over the years and are happy to offer their exceptional artwork through this website and the galleries' professional art consulting services.
