The Southern Pines Police Department is a full-service law enforcement organization that provides services to more than 12,000 residents. The department prevents crime, maintains social order and peace, and protects residents lives and property. Established in 1887, it employs more than 45 sworn officers. The Southern Pines Police Department maintains a patrol division that is comprised of bicycle unit and special response and traffic teams. The Southern Pines Police Department handles cases related to murder, rape, robbery, burglary and theft. In addition, it maintains records and administration divisions.
