Founded in 1969, Smithfield Selma High serves students in grades 10 through 12. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. The school offers various extracurricular programs in fine arts and physical education. It also conducts sessions in media studies and business, career and technical education. In addition, the school provides foreign language sessions in Spanish and French and offers the English as a Second Language program. It also provides guidance and counseling services to its students. The school offers a variety of sports activities, including volleyball, football, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, wrestling, and track and field. It operates several student organizations, such as a student government and science and booster clubs. Located in Smithfield, N.C., the school is a part of the Johnston County School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
