Better access to domestic customers, suppliers and seaports was the reason the RSM Company settled in Charlotte, N.C., the city it considers to be the heart of the United States textile industry. RSM Company is a merchant of textile fibers and waste generated by spinning and weaving mills. The synthetic fibers that the company works with include polyester, nylon, acrylic, rayon and garnets. Synthetic yarn is also a product sold by the company. RSM Company merchandises cotton fiber from most growth regions in the United States servicing the yarn spinning industry. Waste and by-product applications include wiping waste, garneting, paper production, disposables and spinning. Its corporate offices and warehousing are all located in the approximately 600,000-square-foot distribution center. RSM Company was established in 1864 and is still owned by its founding family.
