Sometimes things happen for a reason. I enjoyed biology classes in high school, but never imagined myself as a nurse or nurse practitioner while I was growing up. But it has been a rewarding path, and I love what I do. \n Every one of us in healthcare should put patients at the center of all we do. That's my philosophy, and patients appreciate it. They find I always listen to their concerns and work with them to address their needs. I enjoy variety in medicine and have found I get a lot of satisfaction from caring for patients who have diabetes. \n It's always an honor to be recognized for my work. In 2011, I received an achievement award from University North Carolina Wilmington, as well as the Wilmington Biz Healthcare Hero award in 2018 in the nurse practitioner category. In 2022, I received an award from Novant Health Medical Group for excellence in service and professionalism. \n My wife and I have two children and live in the Wilmington area, where I grew up. In the past few years, I have discovered a passion for running. I love to cook and describe myself as a foodie.
