Founded in 1988, Pride in North Carolina is a private organization that provides services to persons of all ages with mental illness, retardation and behavioral disorders. It provides a community-based network of services to meet the diverse needs of children, adults and families in need of support to address mental, emotional and developmental disabilities. Pride in North Carolina designs treatment services in collaboration with the individual, his/her family, other involved agencies and any other people that are important in the life of the individual. Pride in North Carolina has satellite offices located in various parts of the eastern and central North Carolina. Headquartered in Burlington, N.C., it also maintains locations in Jacksonville, Cary, Nags Head, Greenville, Elizabeth City, Wilson and Wilmington, N.C.
