Pediatric Specialty Care is a child-friendly medical group that provides subspecialty children s care services. It offers pulmonary care services for respiratory diseases, cystic fibrosis and asthma; and nephrological treatment services for children with abnormal kidney function, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis and hypertension. The group also provides gastrointestinal care for digestive disorders, gastric bleeding, malnutrition and reflux, as well as treatment and diagnostic options of congenital heart diseases for adults. Pediatric Specialty Care at the East Carolina University additionally performs bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, electrophysiology, pacemaker installation, echocardiography, colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures. It is located in Greenville, N.C., and is a part of ECU Physicians, which is a network of practice groups that is managed by the East Carolina University. Founded in 1907, the East Carolina University is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina and offers more than 100 bachelor s, over 65 master s and nearly 15 doctoral degree programs. It occupies an area of approximately 500 acres and serves more than 24,000 students.
