As a physician of orthopedic sports medicine, I've always loved feeling part of a team. A visit to my office is kind of like a trip to the locker room. Together, my patients and I craft an individualized plan to get them back to the sport they love. \n The body's natural mechanisms have always fascinated me. With each patient, I explain the body's natural processes, what is supposed to happen and what went off the playbook in their case. My approach to healthcare is to create an environment based on respect, make decisions supported by the most up-to-date research and equip each patient with the wisdom to prevent further injury. \n In the past, I served as a naval officer with deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition, I have been team physician for the Carolina Hurricanes and Lenoir-Rhyne University. I am also an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. \n In my free time, I love spending time with my three teenage children and our German shepherd, Arya. We enjoy adventure in any form we can find it, such as boating, hiking and trying new restaurants.
