I decided to pursue medicine because of a trip in college. When I was in college, I went on a church trip to Florida and worked with homeless populations. While the trip was not medical in nature, I noticed that many of the homeless people were in need of medical care. It was an eye opening and humbling experience. Our health is tied to so many other aspects of our life. After that trip I decided to pursue medicine because I wanted to help people with their journey to health, healing and wellness. I see myself as a health advisor and advocate. The more patients know about their health conditions, the more empowered they will be to manage and make decisions about their health. The best treatment plans come about as a two-way conversation, because patients are ultimately the expert on their body and circumstances. I am here to advocate for my patient and cheer my patient on as we as a team strive to meet patients' health goals together. My areas of special interest include geriatrics, womens health, preventative care and behavioral health. Outside of work, I love to explore US national parks and travel abroad. I also enjoy baking, discovering new food trucks and spending time with my husband, three kids and dog.
