History
The purpose of the King Farmers' Market is to provide fresh, healthy, and affordable produce, meats, and eggs to the local community, improve local food access and food security, support the efforts of local farmers and businesses, educate the food-insecure about healthy eating and how to prepare nutritious meals, and to promote a greater sense of community. The Market provides sellers, primarily local farmers, an opportunity for increased income through the sales of their products and improves community access to fresh, locally grown products at competitive prices. The King Farmers' Market is the oldest, continuously run, producer-only farmers market in Stokes County, and is also the only market within Stokes County that accepts WIC and Senior FMNP (Farmers' Market Nutrition Program) vouchers.
Specialties
The King Farmers' Market is a producer-only market, which means we grow or make EVERYTHING we sell. No reselling allowed, ever. We've been bringing fresh and local produce, meat, and value-added and artisanal products to Stokes County since 1998! We are a non-profit organization comprised of local farmers and artisans, and remain dedicated to offering fresh produce, meats, eggs, honey, and value-added products, all grown, raised, or made locally. We grow and make what we sell. You deserve to know where your food comes from!
