The International Longshoremen's Association, also known as ILA, is one of the largest unions of maritime workers in North America, representing more than 65,000 longshoremen on the Atlantic Coast, the Gulf Coast, the Great Lakes region, major U.S. rivers, Puerto Rico and eastern Canada. Founded in 1892, the union is affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, Canadian Labour Congress, and International Transport Workers' Federation. Additionally, the International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots, the United Marine Division Tugboat Workers, and the New York State Supreme Court Officers are affiliated with the ILA. The union hosts the annual ILA Children s Fund charity golf tournament to sponsor The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
