Following Dillon J. Rose's untimely death in 1961, Dewey Weaver successfully led the company. He soon attracted William. M. "Bill" Marshburn and Dillon W. Rose. In 1999, Dillon Rose, Jr. joined the current management team that is carrying D. J. Rose and Son into its second century of business.Our company is one of the oldest, continuously operating general contractors in North Carolina. Armed with unlimited, unclassified, general contracting licenses for North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, we specialize in the construction of neighborhood shopping centers, banks, hospitals, schools, churches, and industrial plants.Our success through the last century has been built on the cornerstones of quality control, cost efficiency, personal supervision and scheduled completions. Most of our employees have been with the company for many years and their dedication to their craft is exhibited in our projects and our long list of satisfied customers. D.J. A reputation for diversity and capability in all types and phases of general construction.All of his professional life Bill has been involved with the Association of General Contractors ( AGC ), the nation's largest and most respected construction trade association. In 2003 he was elected to serve as Chairman of the Carolina's Chapter AGC, and is currently a National Director of AGC of America. Bill is a Board of Trustee member of Comptrust AGC of the Carolinas, Carolinas AGC Self Insured Workers Compensation Fund, and Carolinas AGC.Locally, he has been active on several fronts. Bill currently serves as a Board of Trustee member for Nash Community College and RBC Centura Bank. Prior service includes Rocky Mount YMCA board of directors, President and Campaign Chairman, United Way, Day for Wesleyan, and area chairman of the N.C. State Alumni Association.He and his wife Patsy attend Lakeside Baptist Church, and have two children, Will, wife Amy, and grandsons Connor and Landon of Apex, and David of Raleigh.Dillon W. Rose, Sr. began his career with D.J. Rose and Son as a teenager during the summer months and officially joined the company in 1971. He is a native of Rocky Mount, attended high school at Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, Va., and earned a degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
