Greensboro Jewish Federation, established in 1940 as Greensboro United Charities, caters to the social service needs of the Greensboro Jewish community. Based in the Guilford College area, the federation shares its facility with Jewish Family Services and the Jewish Foundation of Greensboro. It funds and supports many programs locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, as well as conducts Jewish overnight camps. The federation partners with national and international organizations, including the Jewish Agency for Israel and American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Some of its local affiliates are American Hebrew Academy, Temple Emanuel and Beth David Synagogue.
