FreemanWhite is one of the oldest architecture firms in North Carolina. Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., the firm was founded by Charles C. Hook, who was North Carolina s first registered architect. At least 40 projects that Hook designed have been registered as historic landmarks. The firm initially designed large houses for residential areas, but shifted its focus to large building construction. FreemanWhite has a great deal of experience in designing multi-level buildings, such as office buildings and hospitals. Many Charlotte and surrounding area hospitals have been designed by FreemanWhite.
