HistoryBert Brooks held an interest in pursuing the funeral business and in 1978 when George W. Dill & Sons Funeral Home of Morehead City became available for purchase, he jumped at the opportunity. The name of the business was changed to Brooks Funeral Home in 1982 and the Brooks family, Bert, Sr., wife, Jerri and sons, Bert, Jr. and Scott operated at the original Dill location until 1987. The support of the community and growth of the business enabled the Brooks family to relocate and build a new facility adjacent to Carteret General Hospital and Medical Park in Morehead City.
