Dr. Desai graduated from Rush University in 2012 with a Master of Science degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology, and a Medical Degree from Rush Medical College. He then undertook his orthopedic surgery residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, and followed this with a fellowship in complex spine surgery at Houston Methodist/Texas Medical Center. During his years of training, Dr. Desai spent time volunteering for health care outreach programs that provide support to people who are homeless or uninsured, a cause he cares about deeply. He also conducts research into spinal surgery with the aim of advancing medical knowledge in the field.
