Medicine has always excited me. The way our body works (and doesn’t work) is truly amazing. I became a doctor to help children and I want to make a difference in someone’s life. My goal is to encourage parents to be the best that they can be. If I can encourage someone to follow in my footsteps and also became a physician, that’s icing on the cake. I am very interested in newborn care and helping first time parents through the daunting role of parenthood. I also have a special place in my heart for my adolescent patients as I help them navigate the ups and downs of their lives. However, every age is unique and beautiful. I believe in partnering with the family to provide the best care for their child. I want to instill a sense of independence so that families can feel confident in the decisions that they make for their children. When it comes to the care of children, there should be mutual agreement, understanding, and compassion; not just with the provider and parent, but also with the child. Parenting is a tough job and ultimately I want to help parents and children find some joy in the journey. On my days off, you will often find me reading a good book, taking care of my orchids, hiking or kayaking with my husband and lounging with our cats watching a movie.
