Upon completion of his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Griffies went on to earn his professional education from the Baylor College of Dentistry. He received his certificate in orthodontics from the U.S. Army Orthodontic Training Program at Fort Meade and practiced dentistry and orthodontics in the Army for over 22 years. In addition, he served as the orthodontic instructor for three Army Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training programs and the Fort Bragg General Dentistry training program. In July 2005, Dr. Griffies retired as the Orthodontic Consultant to the Army Surgeon General.
