Cumberland County Register of Deeds is a public service utility offering management services for various public records. Register of Deeds office enables the owner of an interest in property to give public notice of that ownership. Its land records date back to 1754. It also houses various other public records, such as notary oaths, births, deaths and marriage licenses. The General Statutes of North Carolina govern the Register of Deeds. The register of deeds is responsible for the maintenance, integrity and safekeeping of all public records for which it is legally entrusted. It also offers online notary public applications, information about filing an assumed name, Uniform Commercial Codes and marriage licenser requirements. The register of deeds office is located in Fayetteville, N.C.
