The North Carolina Division of Services for the Blind has been assisting blind and visually impaired individuals to gain independence and employment since 1935. The organization serves citizens in partnership with county, state and federal agencies, as well the Lions Club and several consumer and advocacy groups. The North Carolina Division of Services for the Blind provides vocational rehabilitation and employment services through job search skills training and career guidance and counseling. Its business enterprise program offers participants who are legally blind with the opportunity to operate their own food service or vending facility. Additionally, it provides independent living, eye care, assistive technology and low-vision rehabilitation services.
