I graduated with a degree in animal science from North Carolina State University, and after living in East Africa for two and a half years with the Peace Corps teaching animal husbandry, I realized that the health of humans and animals are linked. In much of the world, you cant have healthy livestock if the health of the community is failing. Coming back to the United States helped spark my passion for a healthy community, and I then earned my degrees in nursing. My philosophy of care is that all people should be treated with dignity and respect, and I put 110% into making sure my patients get the best care available, regardless of economic or social status. Outside of work, I love to quilt, travel and cook. My husband and I have two cats who are hysterical, and I have so much fun when I get to spend time with my family.
