In 1959, Alamance Foods parent company, Alamance Foods/Triton Water, was selected as a franchise producer for a revolutionary new product, aerosol whipped cream. Alamance Foods was then established as a separate company for the production of the new product and began producing the Reddi-Wip brand of whip cream. The company is one of three major producers of aerosol whip cream in the United States. Alamance Foods/Triton Water manufactures private label and branded water, flavored drinks, freeze pops and aerosol whipped cream. The line of Alamance Foods/Triton Water brands consists of Triton Water, Freeze Pops, Fun Pops, Happy Drinks, Big Drinks, Li'L Drinks and Classic Cream. Located in Burlington, N.C., Alamance Foods was founded when R. W. Scott began to sell butter and cream, churned primarily for his own family's consumption, more than 100 years ago.
