The Buffalo VA Medical Center, founded in 1950, provides surgical, mental health and long-term care services through a range of inpatient and outpatient programs. The center specializes in urology, angioplasty behavioral health and dermatology. It serves referred patients from New York and Pennsylvania. The Buffalo VA Medical Center also offers laboratory and mammography services. The center provides occupational, radiation and physical therapies. In addition, it offers primary, respiratory, pulmonary and critical care services. The center performs vascular and thoracic surgeries, as well as handles treatment cases for spinal cord injuries and sleep disorders. It provides vocational assistance and stress testing services. The Buffalo VA Medical Center is one of the facilities managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
