Varna Volunteer Fire Company works towards the preservation of lives and property through the prevention and abatement of hazards from fires or similar emergencies. It responds to fires and other emergencies, providing residents and businesses with 24-hour protection. The department maintains a fleet of an initial attack engine, a mini-pumper, tanker, and light- and heavy-rescue trucks. Varna Volunteer Fire Company educates the general public in the areas of fire prevention and life safety. In addition, it provides water rescue, vehicle extrication and hazardous material incident mitigation services. Varna Volunteer Fire Company has been operational since 1953 and is located in Ithaca, N.Y.
