The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York is located in a magnificent building on Quarropas Street. This court has jurisdiction over the counties of New York, Bronx, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess and Sullivan counties. The court has two other locations in Middletown and Manhattan.
The courthouse first opened in White Plains in 1983 and was later moved to Quarropas Street, in 1995.
