The Henrietta Acampora Recreation Center is one of five recreational community centers located in Brookhaven. The Town Office of Parks, Recreation, Sports and Cultural Resources oversees the center. More than 15 activities and workshops are offered to children and adults here year-round, including lessons in marquetry, wood carving, adult watercolor and oil painting, bridge, Tai Chi, Zumba; the center also hosts dinner/movie nights, among other fun events. This building houses an emergency food pantry, Comfort Aids (the cost-free lending of sick-room equipment to town residents) and the home office for Meals on Wheels South Shore. Blue Point Ball Field is located behind the recreation center building.
