The Comptroller s Office is responsible for account receivables and payables. It handles water and sewer requests, billings and final readings. The office also manages payroll and employee benefits, as well as offers notary public services. The Comptroller s Office is governed by the Town of Allegany in New York, which additionally operates the Village of Allegany Department of Public Works. The department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of drinking water and sanitary and storm sewer systems, as well as a network of streets, village-owned buildings, vehicles and properties. The town also governs the Parks & Recreation Department, which manages a youth center and community parks, as well as Allegany High School Gymnasium.
