Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute
FFounded in 1919, Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is a regional fine arts center serving diverse audiences through various program divisions, including the museum of art, performing arts and school of art. It is located in Utica, N.Y., and maintains the traditions of fine art and culture through it programs. The museum of art division features a permanent collection, exhibitions and education for all ages in an international-styled gallery building. Its performing arts division presents world famous soloists and ensembles, rising stars, recitals with commentary, cinema, family programs, outdoor festival concerts, special events and educational activities. The school of art offers accredited college programs in association with Pratt Institute and community art education for adults, teens and children. Its various subject classes include drawing, jewelry and metal arts, painting, photography, pottery, printmaking and papermaking and dance classes. Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute also features fine art and music libraries and an art shop gift gallery.
