Temple B’nai Torah is one of the larger Reform Judaism congregations on the South Shore with over 500 families. The synagogue was born from a merger between the Suburban Temple in Wantagh and Temple Judea in Massapequa. The temple’s clergy includes Rabbi Marci N. Bellows, Cantor Steve Sher and Rabbi Deanna Pasternak, Director of Education. The temple’s religious school has over 300 students from kindergarten through 12th grade. There is also a full Bar/Bat Mitzvah program (including one for adults). Temple B’nai Torah is also one of the only Union for Reform Judaism Hebrew schools that offers a program for youngsters with special needs. With a youth, teen and adult choir, tot and family Shabbat services, PTA, Youth group, Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Chai and Couples Club, Temple B’nai Torah has something for just about everyone.
