In January 2004 tragedy struck. Peter, who had worked for a locksmith in Queens, lost his job because his employer sold the business to someone who brought in all their own people, and then 2 weeks later lost his house to a fire. It was not an easy time, and a lot of people would have given up. Incredibly Peter saw it as an opportunity. He had insurance on his home, and used that money to find a new place for his family to live and to put a down payment on a space for a new business. He had always wanted to own his own locksmith business, but thought he'd have time to plan it out and save up before jumping in. Sometimes things don't go the way we planned, but in Peter's case it was a blessing in disguise. His new neighborhood welcomed him with open arms, and he quickly became a fixture among the residents of Brooklyn and now all of New York City. Peter is thankful for the events that brought him and his family to this new and better phase of their lives.
